Money Money Money - Mo-----ney!

I know nothing of coins, stamps or other such collectibles. I found an entire jar of money from other countries that my kids have had a ball with. Pesos and money from New Zealand, along with British pounds and even a euro or two. I was hoping to find a Golden Eagle gold bullion - but no such luck. We will just keep playing with our $2.42 in play money that fills the jar....

another word for sucker....

My kids call me a SUCKA all the time. Usually when I give in and let them have their way. It's ok. I AM a sucker. Usually for them but also for the Point of sale display at the store. A little bag for this or that? YES. How about a small aspirin holder? Never know when I might need it. Or even a *gasp* set of plastic gloves. HEHE - sure - why the heck not. Yes, I am a sucker and I OWN it!

New focus

I love food. I love to eat and try new things. I like to cook but I LOVE to bake. This serves me well in a lot of areas - my waist not being one of them. I need to find a workout that I can do easily from home. Maybe a good yoga dvd?

My Valentines

Are five and six. A little different spin on Valentine's Day this year. No roses or champagne. We probably will have conversation hearts and MAYBE dipped strawberries. But man alive - those boys have what it takes to make my heart go pitter patter.

So sweet

I love new love. I have a few friends who are in that so sweet and kind stage. I love it. It is precious. When they are talking about gifts for romantics and new romantic things to do for their significant other. Makes my heart smile.

What is going on....

I have seen more and more people with addiction problems. What is going on in this world? Why is everything seem like it is going to pot. (literally) I see more about xanax detox addiction abuse withdrawal. Makes me very sad.

Treasures

In moving I have found a bunch of treasures. Or so, my kids think. Old bottles, maps, you know - "treasures" especially to a little boy! I found a bunch of old New Zealand monies and coins. They are having a ball. Makes me wonder if those are worth anything? Knowing my luck, theyre playing with some rare coins. LOL

NOT YET

I do not know how these marketers do it. How do they know I was divorced THIS WEEK. I have gotten more invites for free online dating. Nuts. I am so not ready for that! But good to know, if and when I am ready, these marketers are going to be ready.

Need to be professional

I think this comes with the territory of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom for so long - sometimes I need to feel like a professional. Like someone who has a master's degree and even a leather briefcase. But, trust me, that moment is wonderful for a time, but is fleeting.... I love my babies and would not change working in my PJs most days for anything!

The moment we left Disney we starting contemplating our next vacation to the Mouse House. We loved it so much. We went at Halloween last time and I would love to go at Christmas time - but that time of the year just does not really work well for us. I have been researching different Disney vacation packages to find the best deal. Let us be honest, though, anytime you go it is going to be MAGIC!

Finding that deal

I love a deal. There is no doubting that... I do often check prices at amazon or online when shopping at the Wal-Marts - or I do price matching which is nice. I have considered a Honeywell Barcode Scanner. Do you have one of these? Do you use it? Is it helpful??

Making life simpler....

I am always looking for a way to simplify - which sometimes makes things harder... weird how that works. I am thinking of a POS system for when I do wall appeals. A lot of people want to use a card and I just do not have that capability without paypal - which works, but something POS would be nice. Is it worth it though?

I have the handwriting of a doctor. I love science stuff and the human body is facinating to me. I am learning the names of the muscles for FUN (you can increase my cool points by 10 for that one). But I am still amazed at this machine: ecg machine pretty cool stuff...

Sometimes I wonder how I end up on some of these e-marketing lists. Last week, I received an email about penile enhancements - hmmmm not needed here - thank you. I have also received e-mails about rv repair ; cooking for the vegan in my house and how to best prepare tofu. Hmmmmm.... I think my demographic is off...

Planning

As you know, I am a planner by nature. I cannot help it - it is the way I am wired. I like to know what is going on - even if it changes - just to have a PLAN. So, when it comes to my kids - I have a plan in order also. 529's and savings accounts. School tutition. All of these are planned for. But what if something happens to me? So, I have been on a mission to compare life insurance options to best fit our needs without breaking the bank.

Hot cocoa, a cozy fire, snuggling in your blankets, a heated blanket - what is your favorite way to warm up in these winter months? I love snuggling with my babies near a fire drinking hot cocoa - haha!

Being a girl

Means high heels, fancy dresses and best of all JEWLERY.

Since my fingers now have no rings on them I have been buying them up like crazy. Sparkly ones, gold ones, beaded ones, rustic ones, I even have a stainless steel ring.

i love how they can complete an outfit that might have just been ho-hum into something amazing!

Timeless Kids Toy

My kids love the same toys I loved as a kid. Scooters; pogo sticks; slinkies and the best yet, best duncan yoyo at yoyoplay. Ah to master the up and down and then onto walking the dog; the baby cradle and some other fancy tricks that only my dad can do. I love that in a time like now, my kids can relish the fun in the same things I used to!

Burning a hole...

I am NOT good with getting money for Christmas or any other time as a gift. It BURNS a hole in my pocket. I immediately try to figure out the best way to spend it and what I really NEED (need being a VERy operative word here). I LOVE these:

It is said your eyes are your portals to your soul. Is that true? I don't know about a portal but I think they can be VERY telling. I have been experimenting with eyeshadows and different ways to enhance the eyes. I love this product best eyelash enhancer. I also love a good old fashioned eyelash curler. And to whomever invented mascara, I bow down to you...

Trendy

I love clothes. There is no surprise in that statement. However, I have been experimenting with new styles and cross "contaminating" different genres. For instance, LOVE equestrian boots with skinny jeans and a modern sweater. Or a rocker jacket with a sequin skirt and high heels. What is your current favorite style?

Gift Ideas

I am looking for a good gift for my brother-in-law who is notoriously hard to shop for. He is never ungrateful and you would never know he did not use your gift until you saw it tags on in the next yard sale box. So, I am thinking a nice cologne or humidor. What do you think?

Equipment

It seems like because of the recession people are finding all kinds of ways to save money. From babysitting sharing services to equipment leasing programs. It seems like sharing and working together to afford things is trendy. I am all for that. Now, does any one have a new car they would like to share? :)

I have been looking for some part time work lately and have seen a LOT about Healthcare Support Jobs. I did some research and it seems that this is really an up and coming field. It seems that EVERYTHING in the healthcare field is. Do you work in this field? What do you think?

I need some new scanner software. I use what came with my scanner but I need some that can do some other, higher end things. Do you have recommendations? What do you use your software for?

New Office Chair

I hate office furniture. It is usually so BORING and expected. So, I bought a new chair that I LURVED from Target and just attached some casters to the legs. Viola - instant office chair with a little bit of sass!

Eating my words...

Since having kids I have had to eat crow more than once. I swore my kids would not watch any tv except educational programming (SpongeBob Counts - right?); I also swore fruit would be my kids candy (once again -SKITTLES is made to TASTE LIKE fruit....) Ahhh ink...

I feel like an octopus as much as I worry about ink - ink cartridges and their replacements. There seems to be an unending need for ink cartridges in my life. Where do they all go? Lord knows I am making a dent in the schools budget due to my recycling of old cartridges in their handy dandy little boxes. Ahhhh ink.... SIGH

Upgrades!

Time for an upgrade to the downstairs home theater system with dvd

player. Now, we have a nice television but our last theater system went kaput. The sounds got fuzzy and then one sided and then NOTHING. So, time to upgrade. Suggestions? Does not have to be pricey or high end - just something good for the occasional movie night.

Office Supplies

I never really knew how many supplies as a small business we would go through. From pencils to paper to laser ink cartridges; we go through a TON of stuff. I am always on the lookout for a great deal. It is like Christmas when I find them. Yes, I am silly. Where do you get your office supplies?

Phones

WHY do we make ourselves keep a landline? I say its because the boys know that number and it is my own laziness that keeps me from getting rid of it. I also like having a regular phone, although I am usually put out when people call it. Another thing that gets on my nerves is our cordless phones randomly hang up on people and always seem to be dead. And let me tell you, telephone batteries are just as high as the phones themselves. I know someday I am going to reach boiling point and get rid of them but for now, I just can't.

Navigating...

I am normally pretty versed in health insurance. I am the primary filer, everything-er when it comes to ours. I understand deductibles, in and out of network and EOB statements. But I am lost when it comes to Medicare, the Medicare part D plan and other things of that nature. How do you navigate this world?
